Despite its intriguing premise, “Self Immolation” in Baldur’s Gate 3 falls short of its potential. While the concept of a character sacrificing themselves to fuel a powerful spell is thematically resonant, the execution leaves much to be desired. The animation is underwhelming, and the spell effect itself is visually lackluster. Additionally, the lack of strategic depth in the spell’s implementation makes it more of a gimmick than a meaningful gameplay mechanic.
